With Bonfire Night being next Wednesday I thought I’d put together a list of activities happening around the UK celebrating the end of the Gunpowder Plot.
Lewes Bonfire Night Celebrations - East Sussex
This is one of the most famous Bonfire Night celebrations in the UK. Lewes celebrations are known for being similar to the original Guy Fawkes night in 1676. There are six separate Lewes Bonfire Society’s all celebrating the 5th with different fireworks, parades and traditions.
Going to the parade (unless your a local) can be difficult due to roads and train lines closing between 3 pm and 5 pm. If you'd still like to watch the parade, you can watch the live stream at Rocket FM on YouTube

Arniston House - Edinburgh
Arniston Estate is 6,000 acres and a short commute to Edinburgh. The Bonfire night celebrations start at 17:30 on Wednesday 5th November 2025 with bonfires and fireworks throughout the night. There will be hot drinks, freshly popped popcorn and hot food.

Fountains by Floodlight - Fountains Abbey - North Yorkshire
Fountains by Floodlight is held at the National Trust site, Fountains Abbey. You can get a guided twilight tour of the site while it's lit up with lights. There are live choirs and a street food market with warm beverages. While this isn’t technically a Bonfire night event, it’s a fun and festive way to go out with the family and see some pretty lights.
Fountains by Floodlight will be happening on the 25th, 26th,31st October and the 1st November 2025.
