Our DIY Yoghurt Pot Garden Adventure: When Life Gives You Toddler Snack Containers!
Hello fellow parents! Let me guess - you've got a fridge full of yoghurt as you have a toddler who thinks yoghurt is basically a food group? Well, I've got the perfect activity that'll turn those mountains of plastic into something exciting!
Our Messy Reality
My little one, Jude, would live on yoghurt (and red grapes - they have got to be red!) if I let him. Every. Single. Day. Another container, another opportunity to get creative! Instead of tossing them in recycling, we've started transforming these bad boys into the cutest little plant pots.
What You'll Need (aka Stuff Already Lying Around)
- Those yoghurt containers (washed, obviously - we're not monsters!)
- Some paint (washable is KEY unless you want rainbow kitchen walls)
- Potting soil
- A few seeds or tiny plants
- Excited small human
The Fun Part (aka Controlled Chaos)
- Let your kid go WILD painting the containers and possibly anything else within arms reach so make sure anything valuable is out of the way!
- Expect mess. Embrace the mess.
- Create memories (and maybe some interesting artwork)
Pro-Parent Tip
This isn't just a cute activity - it's stealth learning! We're teaching recycling, plant care, and giving them something to be proud of. Win-win!
Who knew yoghurt could be the gateway to gardening? Not me - but here we are!
Happy planting, fellow yoghurt-container-collecting parents!
