Pikachu
The mascot of the Pokémon franchise and possibly the most famous Pokémon, Pikachu. Pikachu is a mouse-like creature with electrical abilities, such as static and a lightning rod, that come from its electrically charged red cheeks.
Pikachu is also one of the main characters in the first Pokémon series, being Ash Ketchum's partner throughout Pokémon the series

Charizard
Charizard is an orange dragon-like creature, with fangs and wings. Its abilities include Blaze, Mega Claws, Solar Power and Drought, depending on the type of Charizard.
Charizard is one of the most popular Pokémon and one of the rarest Pokémon cards, with only 4,000 cards made out of the 10,000 cards produced in the 90s. Some mint condition Charizard cards go for around £40,000.

Gengar
Gengar is a shadow Pokémon with the ability to hide in shadows, possess people, reduce the temperature around them and create illusions.
Also, Gengar is Ken Sugimori’s favourite Pokémon due to its simplistic design and grinning expression. (Ken Sugimori is an illustrator for Pokémon and co-founded Pokémon's original company)

Squirtle
Squirtle is one of the first three partner Pokémon of Kanto at the beginning of video games: Pokémon Red, Green, Blue, Firered, and LeafGreen. Squirtle is small and resembles a small light-blue turtle that typically walks on two legs.
Squirtle can shoot high-powered water from its mouth and retreat into its shell for defence; the Pokémon can also swim at high speeds.

Jigglypuff
Jigglypuff is a fairy Pokémon which is generally pink, round and has a curled fringe. Its abilities include cute charm, friend guard, and it has the ability to sing its opponents to sleep.
Did you know that 75% of Jigglypuffs are female! So if you want to find a male Jigglypuff in the wild (in a Pokémon game), then you’ll be looking for a pretty long time.

Snorlax
Snorlax is a very sleepy teal-coloured Pokémon, and in games can sometimes be found sleeping in very inconvenient locations. Snorlax has three main abilities: immunity, thick fat and gluttony.
Snorlax was also inspired by one of the Pokémon planners, Koji Nishino, due to his larger appearance, and they have similar names. Snorlax’s Japanese name, kabigon, was Koji Nishino’s nickname due to him eating food past its sell-by date, similar to Snorlax.

Blastoise
Blastoise is Squirtle’s final form, so they look similar with their protective shell and turtle-like features. The difference is that Blastoise is not only bigger but also has a large cannon protruding from the shell. Blastoise’s abilities include Torrent and Rain Dish.
Blastoise is one of the original Pokémon and is featured on the Pokémon Blue front cover, one of the many reasons why fans love it.
