Well Being after the Festive Months

Well Being after the Festive Months

HAPPY NEW YEAR

With little ones running around, especially, it’s hard to find a sense of well-being after the festive rush.

Here are a couple of tips to help you improve your well-being throughout this January.

Get Moving

Try to get outside for a walk at least once a day, it can give you time to reflect on the previous activities and plan for the week ahead. Getting out and about can not only boost your mood and energy but also your little ones, so why not bring them along!

Go to a park or green space to keep the little ones occupied.

Be Kind to Yourself

January is known for New Year's resolutions, getting fit and healthy, and cutting out sugar and alcohol.  While these are good goals to have, they can also be disappointing and hard-hitting if you don’t stick to or complete these goals.

This is a reminder to be kind to yourself if and when these resolutions aren’t completed to the standard you were expecting.

Purposeful Activities

With children of any age, it can be hard to take time for yourself and do an activity you enjoy, however, try to fit in time to do an activity which makes you relax or helps you to collect your thoughts. This could include a sport, scrapbooking, journalling, reading or baking.

Some of these activities could even be done with or alongside your little ones.

Plan a Treat

The festive season is full of treating yourself and others. This doesn’t need to end in December. It doesn’t need to be anything expensive or far away, but it is a great way to give you and the family something to look forward to throughout January. It could be going to a local farm or wildlife reserve.

That’s our small list of tips on how you could improve your mindfulness in the new year.
