Who doesn’t love a fresh walk and beautiful views in the winter months? Below is a list of winter walks across the UK for you and the family.
Longshaw Estate, Toddler Walk- The Peak District
The walk is 1km and is a circular woodland route with fun bridges, a paddling spot, ancient woodland and views of wildlife. This walk should take around 1-2 hours with a toddler.

Hatfield Forest - Essex
Hatfield Forest is a National Nature Reserve and is an example of a Royal Medieval Hunting Forest. This walk has views of a lake, ancient woodland, wood pasture and a shell house. It is also in the vicinity of a forest cafe, a visitor hub. During the winter months, it is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.

Dartmouth Castle to Bayard’s Cove Fort - Devon
This trail is 1.6km and a coastal path, there is a chance to have refreshments at cafes, pubs and restaurants in Dartmouth. It follows the River Dart, going along the South West Coast.

Broadway Tower - Cotswolds
The Tower is a landmark on the top of the Cotswolds escarpment and was put there due to the pre-medieval trading routes. There are two circular walks on the grounds, with one walk 1.2 km and the other 2.5km.

Nelly’s Moss Lakes Walk - Cragside - Northumberland
The highlights of this walk are the historic lakes, which were engineered by lord Armstrong as part of his hydroelectric system. There is also Cragside House on the grounds, a Pinetum and a Rock Garden with a maze of paths.
The walk is 2.4km and should take around 1 hour.

Enjoy this circular Lake District walk where you’ll see some of Fell Foot’s Heritage, including boathouses, a modern active base and a Pinetum.
