First Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

First Mother’s Day Gift Ideas

Is it your partner's first Mother’s Day? The first Mother's Day should always be extra special; this doesn’t necessarily mean that you need to shower them with expensive gifts (not to say that’s not what they want).

Have a look at this list of ideas on what you could do for Mother’s Day.

Make the Day as Easy as Possible

Most of the time, as well as the wonderful gifts, some mums just want an easy day.

This could include letting them sleep in and you giving/ organising breakfast, organising a fun day out with the kids like going to the zoo or the local park, schedule in a chance for her to have some alone time for a couple of hours like running a bath or having the chance to read a book, finally sort out dinner and put the kids to bed.

Make Mother’s Day the easiest day possible for her so that she doesn’t need to organise anything and enjoy the day for herself.

Bath items

This could be a bath spa set for her to pamper herself on Mother’s Day or when she needs relaxation the most.

Items could include: A new bathrobe, bath salts, bubble bath, candles, eye mask, face mask, etc

These products are from M&S Calm Collection

Bake Something

Bake something with your little one for mum. This could be her favourite cake, dessert or bread. Or you could make dinner for everyone in the evening.

Support Small Businesses

Have a look around at your local small business shops, there are always some secret gems in these shops and they are always made with care. If you get a bit stuck on what to get, you can always ask, and most are generally able to help with a recommendation.

Make a Card

Help your little one make a card for their mum! If you need a template, have a look at our kids' activity this week, where you or your little one can colour in a card for their mum

An Experience

This could be a lunch voucher at her favourite restaurant or cafe. Maybe a day at a spa that she can go to on Mother's Day to get some well-deserved rest. If they’ve always wanted to try something, find a way for them to do it, like pottery or floral arranging.

Flowers

Everyone likes flowers! Make sure to find out her favourite kind and get it from your local florist for the perfect personalised bouquet.

A Fun Craft

Get your little one involved!
Get creative and make a flower hand of your little one, this can be a creative and aesthetically pleasing gift that you can have up in your home.

You could also help your little one make a card for their mum by making their hands into a bouquet of flowers.

Photos

You could organise a photo shoot for the family or take some photos of your little one and their mum and get it framed. Anything with sentimental value is always a really good idea, especially while your little one is so small.
